HISTORY
In the mid 1800’s the barn provided welcome shelter for cattle in the bleak winter months. Calves were kept in the byre – in what is now our kitchen – and the granary (the upper floor) held hay, straw and animal feed. But with the passing of time, despite the 3’ thick walls and the slate roof, the building gradually deteriorated, until it was no longer fit for purpose…in 2006 the conversion to residential use was finally completed.

There are 2 stylish, individually decorated double rooms, one with an en-suite, the other with its very own private bathroom. Both have wonderfully comfortable beds with superb mattresses and luxury linen….destined to guarantee a great night’s sleep and generate an immediate sense of well -being. Additionally, a warm and cosy guest sitting room is a great place for reading, writing and relaxation, and the perfect venue for lingering over drinks before dinner.
Guests have their own private entrance and occupy the entire top floor.

What Our Visitors Think
Our room was absolutely delightful, with an immaculate state of the art bathroom right next door……the little sitting room was a joy….and then there is breakfast, served on a beautifully dressed table in their elegant lounge…….the whole experience was Gold Standard, and like stepping into the pages of Country Living……
We stayed for 2 nights and wished our itinerary had allowed us more time to savour the delights of Pauline and John’s hospitality. We were welcomed with tea and scones and soon were ensconced in our very comfortable room with the private sitting room just down the corridor. Every comfort was provided, bathrobes and towels and bedlinen of the best quality. Likewise our dinner on the first evening was so good that although we had planned to eat elsewhere the second evening we asked if we could repeat the experience which was equally as fine.
