The Granary

A lovely, romantic room suffused with early morning sunshine, open to the rafters – exposing the A frame beams – and with the original arrow slit window (now with a shutter.) South  facing views across the valley towards Plenmeller are a joy to behold.  The imposing metal bed is Edwardian, we were NOT sorry to part with our feather mattress!  Our beautiful bed is now furnished with a modern divan base and a superb posture sprung mattress, but with a floor height of 2’ 9”…not for the faint hearted! – princess and the pea springs to mind! Despite that…….  our guests tell us that it is “the most comfortable bed ever!”

Immediately adjoining is the spacious private bathroom, which  boasts exposed ceiling beams, and an electronically operated Velux window. There is a large, deep bath with a power shower over; a re-enforced glass shower screen; contemporary fixtures and fittings; halogen directional lighting; a vertical heated towel rail, and a tiled floor with underfloor heating. Shelves and cupboards provide ample storage, and ample space for a selection of fine toiletries and lots of little extras. Be cosseted, and wrap yourselves in cosy bathrobes and plenty of soft, fluffy towels.

Just outside on the landing is a sumptuous, Scottish Tweed curtain, which can be drawn if desired in order to provide total and absolute privacy.
